Stability analysis of networked control systems subject to packet-dropouts and finite-level quantization

چکیده
This paper is concerned with stability analysis of a networked control system, wherein communication from the controller to the plant input is through a digital channel subject to packet-dropouts and finite level quantization. No acknowledgments of receipt are available to the controller. To alleviate the effect of packet-dropouts, the controller transmits tentative plant input sequences. Within this setup, we derive a sufficient condition for small ∞ signal ∞ stability of the networked control system. This condition requires the maximum number of consecutive packet-dropouts to be bounded. We also elucidate the trade-off which exists between the disturbance attenuation and the step size of the quantizer and the maximum number of consecutive packet-dropouts.

Designinga Neuro-Sliding Mode Controller for Networked Control Systems with Packet Dropout
This paper addresses control design in networked control system by considering stochastic packet dropouts in the forward path of the control loop. The packet dropouts are modelled by mutually independent stochastic variables satisfying Bernoulli binary distribution. A sliding mode controller is utilized to overcome the adverse influences of stochastic packet dropouts in networked control system...
متن کاملA New Framework for Stability Analysis of Quantized Feedback Systems
A quantized feedback system is a control system in which finite-level quantization of signal values is involved in the feedback loop. Quantized feedback is found in many engineering systems including mechanical systems and networked systems because multilevel-valued devices such as A/D (Analog-toDigital) converters, on/off switching actuators, and digital communication networks are widely used ...
متن کاملModelling and Compensation of uncertain time-delays in networked control systems with plant uncertainty using an Improved RMPC Method
Control systems with digital communication between sensors, controllers and actuators are called as Networked Control Systems (NCSs). In general, NCSs encounter with some problems such as packet dropouts and network induced delays. When plant uncertainty is added to the aforementioned problems, the design of the robust controller that is able to guarantee the stability, becomes more complex. In...

متن کاملControl of Uncertain Fuzzy Networked Control Systems with State Quantization
The problem of robust control for uncertain discrete-time Takagi and Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy networked control systems (NCSs) is investigated in this paper subject to state quantization. By taking into consideration network induced delays and packet dropouts, an improved model of network-based control is developed. A less conservative delay-dependent stability condition for the closed NCSs is derive...
